DID YOU KNOW?

The most distant point from land on the planet is at a place called Point Nemo in the Pacific. It is about 2,688km from the nearest land, equidistant from Ducie Island in the Pitcairns to the north, Motu Nui to the northeast, and Maher Island, Antarctica. The region is also known as the spacecraft cemetery, where many obsolete spacecraft are directed to crash, hopefully avoiding any populated area.
