Improvements praised
The remedial work carried out by several owners of property on Lower Main Street was praised at the latest meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne.
It follows a recent discussion amongst business and private interests from the area, under the auspices of KCA, which brainstormed on how some sections could be visually improved.
Since then there has been clearing, planting and painting on the property owned by Sir Anthony O’Reilly, while a number of business facades have been repainted. Notable amongst the latter are Brennans Hardware, and Firestop Enterprises.
Meanwhile, KCA members are planning voluntary cleanup work on some derelict property on the street. The meeting discussed how best to contact the relevant owners to see what could be done about painting and repairing.
