Dancing date next Friday

The Strictly Come Dancing series has attracted large TV audiences in these islands, reflecting—or maybe causing—a resurgence of interest in what used to be called ballroom dancing.

And the interest gave two Kilcullen organisations an idea to raise funds for themselves, which will be culminating in a serious dance-off on Friday next, 4 May, in Toughers at Newhall.

Twelve local pairs will be competing on behalf of Kilcullen GAA and Kilcullen Lions. Apart from their prowess as judged on the night, each team is also busily collecting sponsorship, and will gain extra marks for the amount they raise. In addition, there's an admission charge for the final.
