Share a Break appeal

A number of organisations in Kildare dealing with people who have intellectual disabilities are looking for families to take part in a 'Share a Break' project.

In the scheme, a family offers to provide short breaks in their homes to adults being looked after by the organisations—the Muriosa Foundation in Naas, St John of God in Celbridge, and KARE in Kilcullen.

The participants would offer the breaks on a regular basis, either on a day basis or overnight.

Those who would like to take part don't need any qualification, just energy, commitment, and a desire to support a person with a disability in his or her community.

The KARE contact is Rosemary Dunning in the McMahon Centre, 045 480200.
