Emergency message system mooted

The possibility of setting up a messaging system to alert the Garda and other businesspeople of suspicious incidents was mooted at the recent inaugural meeting of Kilcullen 2017, the implementation group for the new community development plan, writes Brian Byrne.

The scheme would provide a network for text messages about such incidents, suspicious behaviour, and emergencies. The meeting was told that similar schemes are working well in other towns.

The suggestion was made in the context of setting up a subgroup related to Enterprise & Employment as part of the Kilcullen 2017 plan.
