Amy sings solo

A 10-year-old pupil of Kilcullen music teacher Philomena Breslin has come second in her inaugural Feis, with a commendation from the judges on her 'interpretation and telling the story' of her songs.

Amy Barrett of Dunlavin was competing in the U/12 Girls Solo Singing at Arklow Feis.

"She is a very musical little girl," a delighted Philomena told the Diary. "Her achievement is all the more because she was up against mostly older girls in the competition, and it was her first ever Feis performance."
