The BAGs are back

Well, here we go into a brand new year of gigs, and what a way to start, writes Roy Thompson.

Next Monday, Feb 6, Albert Niland returns to Ballymore for the first time since 2005. A Belgium-based Galwayman, Albert Niland came to prominence in 2004 for his remarkable cover of Kate Bush's epic classic 'Wuthering Heights'. But there's so much more to this artist—his excellent guitar work shows influences as diverse as folk and flamenco, and his wry wit and storyteller's eye inform a serious songwriting talent.

Albert returns to Ireland for a week-long tour and I'm delighted to welcome him back to Ballymore- it's been too long. Starts 9pm sharp, €12 on the door.
