'Movember men' let it all go 'bzzzzz'

Close to €1,000 was raised by regulars of The Hideout for the Irish Cancer Society in the Movember Prostate Cancer Awareness Shave-off last night, writes Brian Byrne.

Those who grew facial hair for the event, and let local favourite barber Shelly shave it off on the night, included Peter Kellegher, Eamonn Boyce, Fintan Lawlor, Alan Keenan, Christy Enright, John O’Brien and Tom Hughes (as in the bottom picture above of the before and after look).

Music for the occasion was provided by Hired Guns, and if you weren't there you missed a seriously good duo who offer a mix of blues and rock and guitar playing that is all the better for not depending on any effects other than a bit of amplification. They were just great.

Some of Shelly’s action can be seen below. Christy Enright won the ’Mr Movember’ sash for raising the most individual amount of money.
