Miscellany on Sunday date set

Now accepted as the opening of the Christmas season, the annual Miscellany on Sunday fundraiser day hosted by the Bermingham family of Mooretown will be held on November 27.

The event raises funds for the Michael Garry House Hostel for the Homeless in Newbridge, and is supported by a wide variety of local signers, musicians, poets and actors.

It is in the tradition of the old 'rambling house' where local people came together to chat, entertain each other, and generally enjoy a bit of 'craic'.

Since it was first run in 2000, the Miscellany on Sunday has raised many thousands of euros for Michael Garry House, for which funds are even more urgently needed in these difficult times.
