TDs Line out in Croke Park

Kildare Fine Gael TDs Martin Heydon and Anthony Lawlor made their debuts in Croke Park on Saturday last.  

They were part of an All Party Oireachtas team that took on a team of sports journalists in a charitable event to mark 125 years of CIE bringing players and supporters to Croke Park. All proceeds on the day went to Special Olympics and the Alzheimers Society of Ireland.
 
Despite the valiant efforts of the Kildare Fine Gael TDs, the sports journalists prevailed on a scoreline of 2-10 to 3-4.
 
Deputy Heydon said it was a 'great experience to play in Croke Park' with his colleagues from the Dail. "I enjoyed it, despite the result!"
