Big ESB Networks job underway

ESB Networks worked in Kilcullen since the early hours of this morning on a scheduled major upgrading of the power cables on the streets.

The work involved replacing some of the old strings of five separate cables with new braided versions which are less obstrusive, and renewing other parts of the system. In addition, overhead cables on the Church Road were replaced by underground ones.

Power was scheduled to be off in the town south of the bridge until 2pm today, but was restored before midday.

The part of town north of the bridge is being done next Thursday.
