CPC wall project ready for school approval

The Board of Cross & Passion College will consider at the end of the month the beginning of the lowering of the perimeter wall of the school, writes Brian Byrne. The Board will be asked to give final approval for the work.

This follows the granting of planning permission for the project, which is being undertaken jointly by Kilcullen Community Action and the College.

KCA recently had a meeting with Kildare County Council's Conservation Architect on the site, a recent meeting of KCA heard.

JJ Warren said an investigation of the wall had shown that there was a 'natural break' in its construction which would facilitate the work.

Stone recovered from the project is to be used to provide cladding for the 'Sacred Space' spiritual reflection centre currently under construction in the College.

A draw is being promoted to raise some of the local funds for the project.
