Egg collecting at Castlefarm

Anyone interested in getting some fresh farm air, egg collecting and a free gardening talk can visit Castlefarm near Narraghmore on Saturday 26 February. At 2.30pm families can meet the Castlefarm hens and help collect eggs. At 3pm a free gardening talk will take place in the Castlefarm vegetable garden. Information will also be available on growing your own on the Castlefarm allotments.

“Our farm shop opens the last weekend of every month with free activities, talks and cookery demonstrations," says Jenny Young. "This month we are going to give visitors some inspiration and practical advice in growing their own. The weather is warming up and now is the time to start planning vegetable patches. I will also talk about what eating in season and i will address the principles of organic growing."
