COMMUNITY NOTICE

A reader is looking for a short term rent of a house with four bedrooms for approximately a week around 20-27 May in the Kilcullen area, to accommodate relatives coming for a family event. Call 085 1447988 if you can help.

WEATHER

Largely dry today with sunny spells and just the slight chance of a shower. Maximum temperatures generally ranging from 15 to 17 degrees, with light northeast breezes. Cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will develop overnight.

In contrast to the prior glamorous advertising of beauty and power in the sector, it emphasised utility and made a virtue of the car's simple design.

PARISH LOTTO

New Ice Age fears

A thought for the first day of 2011: in 1974, scientists were seriously worried about global cooling and the prospect of a new Ice Age.
