The passing of Iain Scott
The Diary has learned, to the deep personal sadness of your editor, of the unexpected death of Iain Scott of Brannockstown.
For anyone who knew him, Iain was the quintessential cheerful Scotsman, who with his lovely wife Ros brought sunshine into rainy days. A skilled artist, a gentle philosopher with a wry attitude to life and its ups and downs, and one of those true gentlemen who make the phrase worthy.
To Ros, his brother Kenneth, sister-in-law Beth, nieces, nephew, and all those who were fortunate to be acquaintances and friends of them both, we extend our heartfelt sympathy in their collective loss. To the late Iain, all we can say just now is 'thank you' for the life you shared with all of them and with us.
Prayers will be said at Iain and Ros's home in Brannockstown today (Thursday) at 1.30pm, and burial will follow at Maudlins Cemetery, Naas, at 2.30pm.
We will miss you, and most of all we will miss your unfailing, and wonderfully infectious, good humour.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
