Fire guts building in Kilcullen
A fire badly damaged a derelict building in Kilcullen yesterday afternoon.
The property on the Curragh Road, owned by Leslie McCarthy, has been empty for eight or nine years. It was formerly used in four apartments.
The fire was noticed around 2.30pm and was attended by a unit from Newbridge Fire Brigade. Nearby business premises were evacuated while the firemen brought the blaze under control.
