Vintage rally on Sunday

The 8th Mac & Norman Vintage Rally is being held next Sunday, organised by Peter and Ann Sully and a hard-working committee of friends.

As usual, the event starts off at Peter Sully's yard at 1pm and will take in a circuit that includes Brannockstown, Carnalway, as far as the Two Mile House junction on the Naas Road and then straight through Kilcullen. From there it travels back to the usual end point of The Stray Inn in Mile Mill, via the old Carlow Road, O'B Hire, Yellow Bog Church and Gilltown.

At 5.30pm a charity auction will be held at The Stray Inn and there will be the usual wide range of entertainment.

Last year's event raised €37,600 for the ICS, which was presented to the Society in January. In addition to Peter and Anne, the event was organised by John Kennedy, Ger Markey, Tommy Dillon, Dermot Fitzgerald, and co-founder of the rally Norman Egar.

The rally has raised more than €250,000 for the ICS since it was inaugurated.
