Power cables going underground

Work in progress on the Chapel Road today is in preparation for putting unsightly ESB power cables underground, the Diary understands.

In addition, most of the old poles are to be replaced with modern street slights as far as the church and Parish Centre.

The move will be welcomed by those who appreciate what Kildare County Council has already done with the new footpath on the road.
