Miley calls for proper services signs
'Major concern' at Kildare County Council's move to have signage on private lands adjacent to the M9 motorway have been expressed by local FF councillor Martin Miley.
He says the signs currently available to indicate services available off the motorway are 'sub-standard', and this brings up safety issues.
"Fatigue is a major concern," he says, "and drivers need to pull in to have some refreshments or a rest area. I have called on the NRA and Kildare County Council on numerous occasions to erect permanent signs to identify these, which would aleviate the problem of the unauthorised signs. To date this hasn’t happened and very little communication is coming back from both bodies."
He has again called on both bodies to deal with the matter urgently.
