Bardons Barretstown gig nets €4,300-plus

The collection for the Barretstown holiday facility for sick children which was organised by customers of Bardons has now exceeded €4,300.

"People have been really generous," says Linda Price of Bardons. "And there is still more money to come in from the sponsorship cards."

The main event last week included a charity football game between two teams from Bardons customers, followed by a very successful barbecue which was supported by donations of food and prizes by local businesses and suppliers to the pub.

The fundraising result this year is already well ahead of the 2009 similar event.
