Run for the guide dogs

One of the best kept secrets on the Irish running calendar is the annual Guide Dogs for the Blind 6k in the village of Ballitore, less than ten minutes from Kilcullen.

This year's 27th annual race on Friday July 23 at 7pm has a new look to it, with prizes going to the first five men and women across the line, plus to the top three men and women in age categories from over 35 to 65.

There is also a medal for all finishers, as well as legendary refreshments and post race music.

It would be great to see a a large Kilcullen contingent at the run, says Ray Kelly, who ran in the first one way back in 1983.
