Pat triumphs at car show

Kilcullen photographer Pat Foley won a Best In Class at the weekend's Classic & Vintage Car Show held in Terenure College.

His completely restored Triumph Herald almost looked better than the day it rolled off the assembly line in the late 60s.

Other Kilcullen participants at the show, in its 19th year and the biggest of its kind in the country, included Pat Goulding, Harry Cole, and Keith Pearson with his 1913 Krit.

(The driver for the day pictured here is NOT Keith worn out from Kildare's deteriorating road surfaces, but probably somebody who waited too long for the ending of the recession!)

The Kilcullen delegation were there as part of the presentation from the Blessington Vintage Car & Motorcycle Club. In all, more than 1,000 cars were present at the event, which included a convoy drive of selected models from Dublin's Mansion House to the venue.

The show was sponsored by Axa Insurance and was in aid of ARC cancer support and the St Francis Hospice.
