Library targeted by robbers

Kilcullen Library was the latest target last week in what seems to be a series of raids on part-time libraries around the county.

A small sum of money was taken when the emergency door at the rear of the premises was forced. It is a similar modus operandum to recent robberies at Monasterevin and Castledermot libraries.

The Kilcullen burglary happened at some time between Tuesday evening and Friday morning. The Library was closed for the day as a result.

Meanwhile, the local service will be closed for annual leave from 5-10 July, with actual reopening on Tuesday 13 July.
