Church footpath works next week

Work will begin next week to cobble-lock the footpath from the church car park to the parish church, according to local councillor Martin Heydon.

Following his representations at Kildare County Council a year ago, when a woman who returning from having competed in the Flora Womens Mini Marathon tripped and was injured on the broken surface of the path, the Council provided a temporary tarmacadam surface last autumn.

The cobble-lock will be the final and permanent improvement and is part of the summer works programme of the Council. Other very welcome similar works have included the improvement of the footpath up to Hillcrest, and in front of the bank, both of which have elicited appreciative comments from local people.
