Nolans score high again
Nolan Butchers was a runner up at the country’s largest retail sector awards, the FBD Retail Excellence Ireland Awards 2009, held at Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny last Saturday night. The awards were presented by the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Mary Coughlan, TD, and hosted by TV and radio personality, Miriam O’Callaghan.
Nolan won the Best Large Store Award in 2008 and were thrilled to make it into the Top 6 in their category once again. They had already been crowned 2009 All Ireland Spiced Beef Champions as well as winning 7 Gold medals at the Association of Craft Butchers competitions in 2009.
Attended by approximately 500 representatives of the retail industry in Ireland, the Awards seek to recognise and reward high standards of excellence across the entire retail industry. The overall title of National Store of the Year 2009 went to Instore furniture shop in Co Dublin and a special Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed on Senator Feargal Quinn for his contributions to the industry over the past 20 years.
