Kilcullen Diary

WEATHER

Bitterly cold today with widespread frost and lying snow. There'll be sunshine and isolated showers, possibly turning to sleet over higher ground. Top temperatures generally ranging from 1 to 5 degrees but staying below freezing over snow-fields. Northwesterly winds will increase moderate to fresh.

DID YOU KNOW?

It may have been seen by some as the food marketing coup of 1969, but there were good reasons for Kellogg's Corn Flakes to be included in the food for astronauts on the 1969 Apollo 11 moon mission. They were nutritious, lightweight, compressible, and zero-gravity edible. On early missions, the astronauts also needed to go without refrigeration. Packets of unopened Corn Flakes from the mission are in the collection of the US National Air and Space Museum.

GAA out in the sunshine

Kilcullen GAA's Family Day today brought out the families of members and friends out in large numbers, taking advantage of the super sunshine.
