Good turnout for KARE evening

A drive by the KARE McMahon Centre to find further social inclusion opportunities for the people with disability it serves moved up a gear last week.

Some 60 people turned up to an Information Evening at the centre, which caters for 24 non-residential clients from a wide hinterland in Kildare and West Wicklow. During a presentation they were shown examples of some initiatives in this area which have already made a difference.

And after a feedback session, names and contacts in a range of other clubs and organisations across the centre’s local service area were compiled, with a view to increasing community participation.

Pictured above at the night are Imelda Faney, who is learning Pitch & Putt skills, with Mary and Liam Sherry of St Bridget’s Pitch & Putt Club.

A full report of the event, with more pictures, appears in this Wednesday's Kildare Nationalist.
