WEATHER

A foggy start will clear to sunny spells this morning, showers will develop later turning heavy later this afternoon with thunderstorms developing bringing the likelihood of spot flooding. Highest temperatures 18 to 21 degrees in light northerly or variable breezes. Rain and drizzle tonight.

DID YOU KNOW?

With the advent of the Industrial Revolution in 19th-century Britain, a trade developed as 'knocker-upper', people who were paid by workers to tap on their bedroom windows to wake them in time to go to work. The knocker-uppers used long poles or in some cases pea-shooters to make discreet noises on the upstairs bedroom windows of their clients. In some parts of England, the trade persisted until the 1970s.

Santa lights up Kilcullen

Santa switched on Kilcullen's Christmas lights at the weekend, and met with a number of young Kilcullen people.
