Kilcullen's Marella gets ecolabel
The Omagh Hostel, operated by Kilcullen woman Marella Fyffe (nee Byrne) with her husband Billy, has been awarded the first European Ecolabel for a hostel in Northern Ireland.
The label, in the shape of a flower, is a voluntary scheme designed to encourage businesses to market products and services that are kinder to the environment and for European consumers.
You can find the label throughout the European Union as well as in Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland. The European Eco-label is part of a broader strategy aimed at promoting sustainable consumption and production.
Congrats, coz. More about it here.
