'Readiscover' books

Readiscover, An Chomhairle Leabharlanna’s national reading promotion campaign, takes place during Library Ireland Week 5-11 March 2007.

To mark Readiscover there will be a series of book promotion and live literature events, including author visits, poetry readings and talks in public libraries throughout the country.

The campaign is supported by local and national radio advertising, bus advertising and the distribution of branded library bags, posters and bookmarks to libraries and to library users.

The posters feature Colm Tóibín, author of such novels as The Master and Blackwater Lightship; John Kelly, presenter of RTÉ’s The View and the JK Ensemble on Lyric FM; Kathryn Thomas, presenter of the popular travel show No Frontiers, and Darragh Ó Sé one of Ireland's most celebrated footballers and winner of four all-Ireland medals.

This will be the third national reading promotion campaign coordinated by An Chomhairle Leabharlanna.
