Valley maintenance appeal

The trustees of The Valley were informed this year that the Kilcullen Community Action group KCA, incorporating the Tidy Towns Committee, would no longer be able to maintain The Valley due to a lack of manpower and funds.

As The Valley area became overgrown, a decision was made by the trustees to bring in a commercial firm to cut the grass at a cost to date of €500. During the season, as the need arises, the grass will be kept cut.

The trustees have now received a donation for the Valley funds of €2,500 from Nessa Dunlea, on behalf of the Market Square development, in view of the disruption this development in The Square may have caused to The Valley. This money will be used to pay for the ongoing maintenance of The Valley.

The €663 paid by KCA to cover this year's insurance will be refunded to that organisation.

Funds are needed to maintain The Valley in the future. If anyone would like to contribute to the upkeep of this valuable community amenity, an account has been opened in Bank of Ireland, Kilcullen, a/c no: 42357112. All donations will be acknowledged.
