GAA concern over 'stranded' teenagers

During the school holidays Kilcullen GAA are holding teenage discos at the GAA clubhouse in Kilcullen twice monthly from 8-11 pm. Admittance is strictly limited to members aged from 14 to 17. The numbers admitted are limited on the instructions of the area Fire Officer.

The GAA have recently become concerned at the number of parents who are dropping their children in Kilcullen before the discos without waiting to check if they gain admittance. Because the numbers are strictly limited some teenagers are not gaining admittance to the discos and if parents have already left the area, some of these teenagers are stranded in Kilcullen until the events finish at 11 pm.

In the interest of the safety of all teenagers attending the GAA discos, we are asking that parents ensure that their children gain admittance before they leave the area.
