Kilcullen bank robbed
Customers and staff of Bank of Ireland in Kilcullen were shaken today following an armed raid on the branch.
Two men wearing balaclavas and wielding knives burst in shortly before 2pm and pushed waiting customers around while demanding money from the staff.
The Diary understands that the customers present included a pregnant woman, and a six-year-old child 'who was very upset'.
The two perpetrators had been 'hanging around' outside, and that there's good CCTV footage of the incident. The garda have taken fingerprints and 'retrieved some evidence'.
An undisclosed sum of money was taken. The bank was closed for the rest of the day.
Anyone who might have been in the vicinity and saw anyone acting oddly should contact Kilcullen Garda Station.
