Call for pupils enrolment

Ballyshannon National School has issued a call for any parents wishing to enrol pupils for next September to contact them, at 045 485309, before Easter if possible.

The growing school, which celebrated its centenary in 2001, currently has 70 children enrolled. This number has been rising over the last few years and there are now three permanent teachers working there: Anna Dillon (Principal), Lorraine McGovern (Vice Principal) and Caoilfhionn Casey.

The school also shares a learning support teacher, Natasha Duffy, with Brannoxtown NS and Two-Mile-House NS, and part-time secretary Gay O’Brien keeps things running smoothly.

All extra-curricular activities in the school are provided free. Miss Casey taught tag rugby after school over a six-week period. Ms Dillon is now coming to the end of a block of French classes and Miss McGovern will be starting volleyball after Easter. A volleyball blitz with other schools in the area is planned.
