Further move on bridge decoration

A company which specialises in providing irrigation systems for hanging baskets and similar public area arrangements is to be contacted shortly by Kilcullen Community Action to move on the system for the bridge, following its refurbishment.

The recent KCA meeting was told that Kildare County Council's work on the bridge was now more or less finished, and the baskets systems were the community's responsibility.

Kieran Forde reminded the meeting of the potential difficulties he'd found after examining the basket holders, including Hyrdrodare piping that appeared to have been cut too short.

He also noted that some drilling was required in the wall into the Bank of Ireland garden to facilitate supply from a tank and pump to be installed there.

J J Warren suggested that the water supply could be taken directly from the river, but was told the head of water required would need a very powerful pump.
