Ola at Riverbank

Singer/songwriter Ola Onabule is playing at the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge on Friday November 4.

Ola's music is a blend of soul, jazz and African influences.

The event starts at 8pm and the ticket cost is €12/€10.

In the summer of 1994 after a brief spell with Elektra Records (Warner), Ola set up his own label, Rugged Ram Records so that he could develop musical ideas organically, avoiding interference or direction by the non-creative auxiliaries of the music biz.

He has since gone on to release five of his own albums and has opened for artists such as Joe Zawinul, Diane Reeves, Al Jarreau, Gladys Knight, Natalie Cole, and Patti Labelle.

Ola tours extensively throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, performing in theatres, arts centres and festivals, growing his ever expanding following in up to 100 performances each year.

For the first time his tour this Autumn will take in New York and Washington in support of the US release of the new album: ‘In Emergency, Brake Silence'.
