'Very good' response in blood drive

The recent visit of the National Blood Service to Kilcullen resulted in 142 donations of blood, which a spokesman for the service told the Diary was a 'very good' result.

That represented a donation from 90 percent of the 158 people who attended, which is a much higher percentage of donations than the average, where one in five people will be 'deferred' for one reason or another.
