Family Days at Riverbank

The Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge will host two 'Family Days' during August aimed to provide an opportunity for young and old alike to pop in to Riverbank to see and experience in a fun and creative what Kildare County Arts Centre is all about.

The events are planned for August 6 and 13, and will include a 'Storm in a Teacup' visual art workshop for youngsters aged 4-7, 7-10 and 11-14. These workshops are facilitated by Kildare Artist Niamh Hynan for children of all ages and booking is essential. Cost is €4 per child.

Storyteller Liam Farrell will tell all about the big bad wolf and the three little pigs, from the wolf’s point of view! Hear about all the rotten things the three little pigs and all the trouble they caused! Experience being enthralled with stories of tomfoolery and mischief. These 30-minute events are geared separately for children up to 7 and those from 8-10. Again, tickets are €4 each.

Liam will also ruin a Writer’s Workshop for young writers.

Street performers in the foyer and on the terrace will amaze and delight onlookers and passers-by with eye-catching juggling, mime, and performances, and a drumming facilitator will run fun percussion workshops.
