'Safety' cones disappear

This is a picture of cones which have for at least three months been 'guarding' a problem piece of road at the entrance to the estates at Castlemartin hill. The actual picture was taken two months ago



The Diary doesn't know what the problem is, but it seems a long time to leave it unfixed, especially given how dangerous a position it is in traffic terms.

Anyway, the cones are no longer there, we've noticed. Not because the problem is no longer, though.

Because they're in Pinkeen Stream, dumped by persons unknown.

If there's a fatal accident, we wonder in what shares the blame will be apportioned between those who should have resolved the problem by now, and the miscreants who dumped the cones?
