Samba jazz at Riverbank

A performance combining Brazilian music and jazz - TudoBem - will take place at The Riverbank Arts Centre on Saturday 9 July, with New York-based guitarist Ben Sher and singer Natasha Faria.

The event will also involve a number of Irish-based musicians, and tickets cost €12/10. The show starts at 8pm.

TudoBem, loosely translated, means ‘Is everything cool?’. Ben Sher and this band offers a blend of hot music from Brazil and cool American jazz combining a unique blend of jazz and samba and will include up-tempo sambas by Jacob Bandolim, Pixinguinha, and Jorge Ben, as well as his original music and classic bosses-novas by Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Ben Sher started out in Pittsburgh playing in many of the clubs where George Benson first started. Since 1989, Ben has made his home in New York.
