Photography workshop planned

A week-long photography workshop at the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge will bring participants through all the stages of blank-and-white photography using traditional film.

The workshop, from June 20-24, will be conducted by freelance writer and photographer John O'Donnell, who will guide those taking part through the various stages of originating ideas, planning and shooting, developing film, and printing and toning.

It is a fulltime event, starting at 9.30 each morning and finishing at 4.30pm.

The programme will include a guided tour through John's exhibition 'Fragile Existence' which will be on display in Riverbank Arts Centre. The exhibition is a series of black and white nudes in both landscape and studio settings and runs at Riverbank between June 16 and July 16.



John has worked as a freelance writer and director in television since 1990. He has written and directed a number of award winning and critically acclaimed documentaries, dramas, opening sequences, music videos and commercials as well as a case amount of corporate work.

Presently he is working on a number of projects including a feature length drama which he has been commissioned to write by a Dublin based production company.

He will also facilitate a Film and Video Workshop at Riverbank and at Filmbase in Dublin, in six days between June 28 and July 14.
