Gardai seeking playgroup vandals
Gardai investigating a break-in to the Naomh Bhride Community Playgroup last weekend 'have fingerprints' according to one of the facility's organisers, Maureen Keogh.
"They burst a beanbag and threw the contents around, and threw some paint and stuffed the toilets," Maureen told the Diary. "It was a real mess when we arrived, but we got it cleaned up."
The vandals also smashed the lock to gain entry and it had to be replaced.
On the good news side, the playgroup - which caters for 25 children Monday to Thursday mornings - recently received some major funding and are in the process of designing a building of their own on the site. They are currently in a set of Portacabins provided by Pat Dunlea.
Meanwhile, in other instances of vandalism during the week, intruders broke into a Learning Support Room at Scoil Bhride and messed up the room, as well as throwing a computer on the floor.
On the same evening, a number of windows were also broken in the Cross & Passion College.
