Garda urge caution when using ATMs

An Garda have issued a warning to all who use ATMs to exercise caution while withdrawing cash from such machines in public places, writes Brian Byrne.

This follows a number of incidents of robbery following withdrawals.

Always be aware of whether there are other people around before you take out cash.

Also keep your pin number secure by covering your hand as you key it in.

Only withdraw what you need for current purposes, and don’t keep large amounts of cash at home.
