Saoirse heads for London for Indie Bookshop 2018 results

Off to London for awards, but also thinking about sponsored parachute jump.

It's a fingers crossed weekend for Woodbine Books as they wait on the results of the overall winner of the Indie Bookshop 2018 in the UK & Ireland, writes Brian Byrne.

The result will be announced at the gala British Book Awards in London, and as our local shop is already the regional winner from Ireland, Seoirse Behan will be figuratively wearing the green jersey at the event, representing Woodbine.

She won't be biting her nails in anticipatory worry, though, as she had them done especially for the occasion earlier this week and it wouldn't be right to waste all that work ...

In the meantime, don't forget to sign a sponsor card for Saoirse's planned parachute jump later in the summer, in aid of suicide prevention amongst young people.
