Locally helped film for screening tomorrow

A reminder that a private screening of a short film in Kilcullen tomorrow night is a 'thank you' to people in the community who helped during its production, writes Brian Byrne.

'Taking Stock' will be shown in the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday 31 May at 8pm.

The drama was written and directed by Siobhán McMahon and produced by Emma Owen from Babyjane Productions. The producers were recipients of Kildare Short Grass funding.

It stars Kelly Gough, Michael O’Kelly and Kildare resident Rachel Lynch. The film tells the story of a farmer who battles through the aftermath of a cattle raid and its effects on him and his family.

The film received sponsorship from Crean's Place Restaurant Kilcullen, Ashover Lodge Kilcullen, Cine Electric Ardmore Studios and Element Post Production. A wine reception will be held in the foyer of the Town Hall Theatre before the screening. (NOTE: The wine reception has been relocated.)

Attendance is free, but booking is advisable as seats are limited. Booking by calling 083 107 8292 or email emma@babyjaneproductions.com.
