Coffee, cakes and cheques in Kilcullen today

The Woodbine Books team.
Just a couple of reminders about stuff happening today that might have slipped your mind during our 'summer' of the weekend, writes Brian Byrne.

First, there's that Coffee Morning in Woodbine Books in aid of Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland, organised by Saoirse Behan who will be making a parachute jump later in the summer for that charity.  The Coffee Morning will run from 10am-1pm and everybody is welcome.

Then this afternoon there's a combined Book Sale, Cake Sale ... and more coffee ... in CPC, to help fund the purchase of Active Learning Stools. That's from 2pm-4.30pm in the school's Assembly Hall, and everything on sale will be €2.

And at 7.15pm, Bernie Dunne tells me the Bowls Club will be getting a presentation of a cheque from the Credit Union and the Kilcullen Lions Club, which will be used to buy new mats. That presentation is in Kilcullen GAA at 7.15pm.

That's enough for today, I think, to keep Kilcullen's wheels turning.
