Leinster Loop cheque presented

A cheque for €14,000 has been handed over to the Breast Cancer Research organisation by the organisers of the Leinster Loop, writes Tom Horan.

At the presentation in Kilashee House Hotel, the organisation's Director Miriam Hand thanked the Leinster Loop for its continued support described how valued this contribution is to the ongoing facilities provided by Breast Cancer Research in Ireland.

Brendan Tallon, on behalf of the committee, community volunteers and sponsors, some of whom were in attendance, said it was a proud voluntary event for all concerned for the past seven years to support Breast Cancer Research in their ongoing work.

In doing so, the Leinster Loop had grown into Ireland's premier cycling sportive, he said, with support from international cycling hero Stephen Roche and Kildare GAA's football star Johnny Doyle, the many sponsors, the many hundred community volunteers, and many many hundreds of participating cyclists.

The planning of the 2017 Leinster Loop is already underway. More photographs of the presentation are available here.
