Warning about thefts from parked cars

Users of the Church car park should be vigilant about leaving items in their cars and making sure all windows and doors are secure, writes a Diary correspondent.

Today her husband had parked in the carpark and went to the shops, and on his return as he approached the car park a young woman was standing at the entrance and called out the name of a gentleman. As our correspondent's husband entered the car park, this man was walking around the cars and suddenly returned to his own car which had another woman sitting in it.

He then picked up the first woman at the entrance. Our correspondent's husband stayed in his car watching them until eventually they drove away. The details of the car have been reported to the Garda.

These next few weeks will be busier than normal, so be more aware of those around you.
