KBC topping tables

Kilcullen Badminton Club are maintaining their strong start to their Dublin District League, writes Club PRO Enda O’Neill.

Lynsey Walsh and her Division 2 Mix team made the long travel to Meath to face opponents Boyne on Tuesday night and didn’t leave dissappointed. Lynsey and her teammates Gillian K Smith, Roy Connor and Eoin Bourke left the Battle of the Boyne 3-1 winners, well done to lynsey and the gang and good luck in their next match on Friday November 25 against Old Bawn at home.

Out on tour on Wednesday 16 November were Debbie Mangan and her Division 3 Mx team who visited St Brigid’s of Dublin. Debbie was determined to keep the winning streak going after the teams fantastic win against Eire Friends the week previous. Debbie again got an away win beating St. Brigid’s 3-1 in what was said to be an entertaining match. Well done Debbie, Sinead Kelly, David Jackson and Martin Dunne and good luck in their next fixture in December against Boyne.

In the South West League Clive Cole and his champions hosted Portlaoise in a cracking match on Friday 18 November in the complex. Clive and the lads managed their first League win and they did it in style beating their counterparts 4-2. Great result and well done to Clive, Martin Lambe, Stephen Dalton and Harry Murphy in a great performance.

Finally congratulations to Kilcullen’s Grade 3 Mens A team captained by Martin and Kasi Va’s Grade 4 Men who made it to the South West League Men’s Finals being played later this month. Also hard luck to the Grade 3B Mens team who just fell short in making it an all Kilcullen final when they were beaten by Ballinabranna, hopefully Martin and his merry men can exact some revenge when they meet in the final.
