Footpath work at Lui na Greine

The work on the new footpath to Lui na Greine got under way yesterday, and much of the curbing is already in place, writes Brian Byrne. It will allow safe passage for pedestrians all the way from the town, with dished entrances to Dunleas Kia.

There’s been a plea, though, for traffic to slow down while negotiating the temporarily narrowed road. “We had to call the Garda today to try and slow cars down, because they were mowing down the cones,” a worker told the Diary.

So, guys, spare a thought for the cones. They’re defenceless, and they can’t jump out of your way.
